The NFL Announces Official Betting Partnerships

official betting

The NFL is the latest American sports league to announce official betting deals. Three sportsbooks were selected to be NFL partners, and they will receive access to official league data and other promotions. The NFL expects to earn $270 million this year from betting partnerships. NFL teams and owners will be able to promote their relationship with these partners on-air and online.

Official betting partnerships are an important part of sports betting and allow the movers and shakers in the industry to collaborate. These deals aren’t simply one-off deals, but extensive portfolios of relationships. DraftKings is one such company that has struck an expansive portfolio of partnerships and strengthened its presence in multiple states.

While betting on professional and college sports is currently illegal, online betting may be available in California as soon as 2022. Proposition 26 and 27 are on the November ballot and could legalize sports betting in the state. If passed, these two measures could legalize online sports betting in California. The current tax rate on online sports betting in the state is 15%, and the tax rate for retail sports betting is 10%.

The Sacramento Kings and LA Clippers haven’t been as successful as their rivals in the past, but their new partnership with Red Hawk Casino could lead to more betting opportunities in the state. If Proposition 26 passes, they may be able to offer their own sports betting, including NBA betting.
