Official Poker

Official poker is a game of cards, usually played with five or more players. The rules of each variant of the game vary, but a few general principles apply to most games.

CHEATING

Cheating is any act which is not in the interest of other players or the game as a whole. It includes making statements that are unfair or misleading to other players. It also includes using a cell phone at the table during WFP finals or regular tournaments, and collusion with another player.

CHEATING IS NOT ALLOWED IN A TRAINING OR SCHOOL GAME

Players who commit cheating in a poker room will be referred to the police, and may be asked to leave the premises and/or disqualified from playing at the casino. This rule applies to all participants, including spectators and other guests.

MISDEALING

Misdealing is a common problem in many poker variations, but it can be avoided. It occurs when a player misreads a hand, and is not the result of a mistake by the dealer. It can also occur when a player intentionally miscalls a hand that is otherwise correct, or when the player deliberately folds a winning hand to defraud another player into discarding it.

MUCKING

Mucking is a method of handling cards which is used to prevent cheating or collusion between players. It can be done in the presence of other players, and involves placing a small object (such as a paper clip or chip) on top of each card.
